Ourea cup exalts the texture and beauty of raw clay, reminiscent of mountain landscapes and natural terrain.
The name Ourea comes from Greek mythology where Ourea are the spirits of the mountains.
The inspiration for these cups comes from the traditional Japanese technique of hollowing and carving clay, Kurinuki. Each of these ceramic mugs is truly unique as it is individually carved by hand. The time taken to slowly carve each one celebrates the nature of the raw material in contrast to “perfect” mass-produced ceramics.
Each cup is made from really special gray clay and finished with a combination of transparent and colorful glaze in autumn shades. Each cup has a Planina sign at the unglazed bottom. Hand-washing is recommended but you can also pop it in the dishwasher. All cups are food safe and lead free.
