Ceremonial cups decorated with wild clay
Ceremonial cups decorated with wild clay
Amidst the chaos of our modern lives, there’s something magical about slowing down and embracing rituals. They provide us with a profound sense of meaning, allowing us to anchor ourselves in a world that feels overwhelming.
The ritualistic use of ceramics brings a sense of connection to ancient traditions and practices, reminding us of our human need for connection and communion.
There is something magical about using a handmade cup during a ceremony that draws people in and creates a unique connection that’s hard to describe.
I felt and witnessed it myself and decided to made my new ceremonial cups for you.
I found wild clay in the village of Vallda in Sweden where I live, processed it and made slip for decorating ceramics. I can't tell you how happy I am when I look at these new cups decorated with wild clay.
They are truly ceremonial as they have a special texture that will further awaken your senses.
This piece of art is created in connection with Mother Earth.
I hope you will feel special while using it!

The cup is handmade with a pinch technique from speckled beige clay, inside is glazed with a glossy clear food safe glaze, and on the outside decorated with a wild clay to have a special rough texture that will further awaken your senses.
Approximate size of each cup is 250 ml up to the top, and the rim of each cup is irregularly shaped.
Please remember that these aren’t mass-produced ceramics - each cup is unique, made with special patience and you cannot find two exactly the same cups in my Studio. That's the beauty of handmade!
Due to the handmade process, the surface is uneven and natural-looking; small imperfections are a welcome addition to my work. The cup is made from stoneware clay and fired at 1230°C. It is food safe, strong and durable, so you can enjoy using it every day. It is dishwasher safe, but hand wash is recommended.
