Amidst the chaos of our modern lives, there’s something magical about slowing down and embracing rituals. They provide us with a profound sense of meaning, allowing us to anchor ourselves in a world that feels overwhelming.

The ritualistic use of ceramics brings a sense of connection to ancient traditions and practices, reminding us of our human need for connection and communion.

There is something magical about using a handmade cup during a ceremony that draws people in and creates a unique connection that’s hard to describe.
I felt and witnessed it myself and decided to made my new ceremonial cups for you.

I found wild clay in the village of Vallda in Sweden where I live, processed it and made slip for decorating ceramics.
This mug is truly ceremonial as it has a special texture that will further awaken your senses.

This piece of art is created in connection with Mother Earth.

I hope you will feel special while using it!

____

The mug is handmade with a pinch technique from speckled beige clay, inside is glazed with a glossy clear food safe glaze, and on the outside decorated with a wild clay to have a special rough texture that will further awaken your senses.

Details

Due to the handmade process, the surface is uneven and natural-looking; small imperfections are a welcome addition to my work. The cup is made from stoneware clay and fired at 1230°C. It is food safe, strong and durable, so you can enjoy using it every day. It is dishwasher safe, but hand wash is recommended.
